So glad you asked! A food tour is a unique culinary experience where a guide leads guests through a neighborhood, making stops at local restaurants to sample food tastings.

Though some food tours only lead guests to the site of the tasting and provide a few small food samples, Zesty NYC tours are led by knowledgeable guides who shed light on the cultural and historical context of the cuisine, and we provide enough food so guests will get their money's worth and leave comfortably full.

It is truly a fun and delicious way to experience a city!

Our tours are uniquely catered to both New York City locals and tourists. We skip the classic, stereotypical spots that tourists can easily find on their own and locals frequent on a regular basis. Instead, we dive right into the heart of a cuisine and lead our guests to the restaurants that allow the story of a culture to effortlessly unfold before their eyes (and their tastebuds).

Public Tours: Please be advised that at this time, substitutions cannot be made to the tasting menu unless you are booked for a private tour. Those with gluten-free, vegetarian, vegan, and pork-free diets are more than welcome to enjoy the historical context that this tour provides, but will be very limited in tasting options. Please contact us before booking if you or anyone in your party has dietary restrictions and we can help advise for your particular situation!

Private Tours: Please note any dietary restrictions in your contact form and we will respond back with the exact accommodations that can be made to the menu based off your group's unique needs.

Yes! Our food tours are walking tours. We will not take any cars or public transportation between locations. Tours include at least 2 tastings where seating is guaranteed, which will double as a nice break for your feet. Check out the description page of the tour for more information.

All tasting costs are included in your ticket price, so your tour guide will take care of the check and gratuity at each location. Your ticket price does not include any food or drinks outside of the pre-selected tasting menu.

You may want to bring a card or cash to make personal purchases at food stores or shops that we stop at along the route.

Although tipping your tour guide is not expected, it is always appreciated!
